This first-of-its-kind study will investigate the role of intestinal helminth infection in the modulation of hypothalamic inflammation through helminth-secreted extracellular vesicles resulting in the regulation of appetite and body weight, providing direct evidence of the therapeutic utility of helminth-secreted extracellular vesicles to regulate obesity, and showing that appetite and body weight regulation is critically linked to inflammation in the brain.
