Stem cell-derived human choroid plexus for high-throughput brain barrier permeability studies
Postdoc

The pharmaceutical industry has struggled with high failure rates in developing neurotherapeutic drugs, partly due to challenges in overcoming brain barriers. One promising strategy is to target the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier, located in the choroid plexus, a critical entry point to the brain. Current attempts to create functional and reproducible human choroid plexus models from pluripotent stem cells have faced challenges.
This project aims to overcome these challenges by taking advantage of fast-forward stem cell differentiation combined with targeted cell purification to rapidly produce homogeneous choroid plexus sheets thus providing high-quality human models needed for drug screening and disease modeling.
